Today is National Missing Children's Day. Observing this sad day calls for hope, strength, and courage.
In the last few months we've experience outrage over the murder of Sandra Cantu. We've also been shocked at the home-invasion kidnapping of little Briant Rodriquez.
Along with the deep sadness we feel, we must remember there is Hope. Hope is what propelled the Tracy, CA Police Department and the entire community to search so diligently for Sandra Cantu. It is what helped the San Bernadino, CA Sheriff's Department and the FBI launch a successful international search for little Briant Rodriquez.
Hope is what energizes the staff of the Polly Klaas® Foundation as we take part in searches for Sandra, Briant and countless other missing children. It is what we feel as we unleash the power of thousands of Rapid Response Team eVolunteers who distribute missing child posters throughout the country.

08:47 pm - A Child Found
HIDALGO, Texas (AP) - A California carnival worker with a history as a sexual predator was arrested in the abduction of a 4-year-old girl who was snatched while playing in her neighborhood, police said Thursday.
The girl was found unharmed 24 hours after her abduction. Police found Christian Elijalee McMillan, 23, with Lesley Estefania Perez on Wednesday night at a rented farm in Mercedes, about 20 miles from her home, Hidalgo Police Chief Vernon Rosser said.
Rosser said McMillan had scouted Lesley's neighborhood for three days before taking her. The Monitor of McAllen reported the girl was playing baseball with her older sister and other kids Tuesday night when a man stepped out of a white pickup, hit her sister on the head and grabbed Lesley.
There was no immediate word on specifically what charges McMillan could face, or whether he had an attorney yet who could comment on his behalf.
The girl was taken to a hospital for examination and has been returned to her family. Rosser says there was no immediate sign that she'd been injured.
**Reported by Nancy Grace tonight, the real hero in finding this little girl was her big sister, and little Leslie has reportedly said that she wants to go back to school tomorrow! =)

Authorities release pictures of suspects in 3-year-old's abduction
Police in San Bernardino, California, released pictures of two suspects in the abduction of a 3-year-old boy who was taken at gunpoint from his home last weekend.
Briant Rodriguez has been missing since May 3, when two Hispanic males armed with handguns burst into the home, tied him up, along with his mother and four siblings. They ransacked the home before leaving with Briant, a small amount of cash and some personal property, San Bernardino County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Cindy Beavers said.
A motive for the abduction is still unclear, and the authorities have not received a demand for ransom, Beavers said.
Investigators traced samples of the tape used to tie up the family to a home improvement store where they believe the suspects purchased the tape the Friday before the abduction.
The unidentified store's surveillance camera captured two men who matched the description of the kidnappers given by Briant's mother, purchasing tape believed to have been used in the abduction, Beavers said.
